Valonia approached ecolibria with the view of ensuring that every facet of their business had environmental and safety controls in place.
They also wanted to improve the working environment so that job satisfaction and productivity would be optimised. A concern was raised over the chemicals that need to be dealt with on a daily basis and therefore air quality testing was deemed appropriate. Valonia is a Screen Printing and Manufacturing operation.
“The entire process has brought about a safer, healthier and more compliant
working environment.”
John Dall’Amico (Director)
ecolibria set about meeting the objectives of the brief by visiting the site and spending a full day evaluating the overall operations. Photographs and detailed notes were compiled. An assessment of all the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s) was also carried out. It was found that air sampling needed to be done in order to quantify the extent of exposure to chemicals in the workplace. Air sampling was conducted on a day when the workload was considered to be at its maximum. Several samples were taken and the results enabled us to take the necessary action to ensure minimal exposure to the employees. The chemical register and MSDS’s were all updated in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
ecolibria met personally with management and employees to discuss the changes that were to be implemented over a period of time. A timeline and details of all the changes were clearly laid out in the report submitted to Valonia.
