Epidemiological studies have
found that long-term nightworkers have a higher risk of breast cancer
risk than women who do not work at night. These studies have involved
mainly nurses and flight attendants.

Mercury is the most toxic pollutant after radioactive substances on the
EPA’s list of industrial pollutants and there is enough mercury in a
single fluorescent light bulb to contaminate 7,000 gallons of fresh
water. In Australia only 1% of fluorescent bulbs are recycled and the
mercury from these bulbs is refined and used as amalgam fillings in the
dentist industry.
